Explication about Microsoft and Liquid Audio.
To get a good understanding about what is going on and to try to get in the most profitable resulting position, I think an understanding of the companies involved and what parts they play are necessary.
As you know by now Microsoft has made partnership with Liquid Audio: (For referance see dailynews.yahoo.com ) Microsoft makes Windows Media player, A competitor of real networks. Who is also in competition with the popular 3PM formatting. Who has a suit filed against it by the recording industry association of America alleging it violated copyright laws. See related story. ON January 20th real networks had made a collaboration agreement with black Web technologies as a music delivery technology. (for reference see biz.yahoo.com )

Instant Video Technologies (Nasdaq IVDO) applying its technology has announced what it calls ?Burst-Enabled? Microsoft media player as a way to enhance Microsoft?s audio and video distribution. (For reference see biz.yahoo.com )

So with these developments it look like bad news for Real Networks, 3PM and black web technologies. The winners are IVDO LQID and MSFT.

In my humble opinion the most profitable investment that can be made at this point would be IVDO. My reasoning goes like this. I would expect LQID to open high on Monday. And if one is already invested in LQID to see this as a Sell on the news opportunity. I don?t like the idea of buying on the news. The opportunity seems to be with IVDO because of its affiliation with Microsoft media player and lack of recent coverage about this relationship. IVDO is selling for about 8 3/8 a share. Has a small float of 3.3 M shares and has recently announced new reseller agreements for reference see (http://biz.yahoo.com/bw/991214/ca_instant_1.html ) IVDO has a the informative interview highly recommended at burst.com For more information about IVDO see burst.com
