There is a phase prior to unblinding, which is where the last cohort study is now. This involves making sure all the datasets are complete (where are the ICP figures for pt 69?, did pt 73 not show up or did they lose his paperwork? etc etc...) It took--if my memory is correct, more than 4 weeks to do this for the first two cohorts--this should go more quickly, because there are fewer pts and the system is more practiced--before you 'lock' them, so that no alterations can be made. Everything is thus ready to go for the analyses...Then you unblind, adding the key that tells which group is which. Then the number crunching takes place, but a lot of that is already preset, the analyses have been planned and can be carried out fairly quickly. That should take a couple of weeks after the unblinding, depending on what secondary analyses then have to be added...
