Ramsey, with so much competition in the wireless environment and more to come in the future, the old guard won't be able to dictate the rules. I think your comment about standards not becoming THE Standard is appropriate. QCOM has played the standards game during the early 90's. Now it is time to compete and QCOM is pretty confident.

Europe will fall behind the ROW unless VOD or a similar company decides to break ranks. It is interesting to see EU's (and T's) model of competition with old technology and their plans to salvage and "rational-lies" their decisions.

Look at the world-wide cdma market share of devices sold, QCOM/KYO, Samsung, Audiovox and other new entrants. NOK, ERCY and MOT are not making any rules in this new game (wireless internet).

The noise level is pretty high these days but fortunately for us qcom has both the right technology and the right business proposition for those companies wanting to be a significant part of the wireless economy.

We are at a point where we don't have to tap dance around the old guard (ERCY,NOK,MOT, T) as there are plenty of others who are working with qcom and implementing cdma around the world.
Thanks
Web.
