CDMA is Toast! <g>

I think we need to settle on some terminology between the Q and Nokia investors....

W-CDMA - CDMA air interface GSM/MAP Network....I count this as a CDMA sub (3G).
1xrtt - CDMA air interface IS-95 Network....Also a CDMA sub (2.5G).
3xrtt - CDMA air interface (5MHz Channel) IS-95 Network....CDMA sub (3G)
EDGE - TDMA air interface GSM/MAP or ANSI network....GSM/TDMA sub (2.5 or 3G???)

How did I come up with these definitions? Simple, as an investor, CDMA is simply whatever Qualcomm receives a royalty off of. This is the only definition that matters...IMO.

Now it starts to get confusing when we start to talk about CDMA2000. Occasionally Tero will state that CDMA2000 is a standard which only a couple of US operators and DDI/IDO have committed too....and he's sort of right. He's talking about 3xrtt....what he neglects to mention is that it is very likely that every CDMA operator in the world will transition to 1xrtt (which is also part of CDMA2000). Nokia might be able to ignore the 3xrtt market....but the 1xrtt market should be large enough within 18 months to warrant some attention. I really hope to see some products from Nokia which address this market....

As to "CDMA is toast"....Can I report you for a TOU violation for making a statement which is obviously meant to provoke the peaceful <g> Q investors?

To all Nokia investors....just be thankful that this board has never gone to the level of the original Q board. I think a nice quiet board and 50% YoY apprecation for Nokia sound like a pretty good combination :-).
