News Corp Executive Vice President to Join KVH Board of Directors
MIDDLETOWN, RI, April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- (Nasdaq:KVHI - news) Stan Honey, pioneer of digital navigation and satellite systems, has agreed to serve on the KVH Industries Board of Directors. Honey has been nominated for election to the Board at the company's annual meeting on May 7, 1997. If elected, Honey will replace board member Michael Schiavo, whose term is expiring.
Honey is currently the Executive Vice President, Technology of the News Technology Group; a division of Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation. There, he is coordinating the development of the set-top boxes for News Corporation's broadcasters. Previously, Honey invented the FoxTrax electronic hockey puck video enhancement system for News Corp's Fox television broadcasts of the National Hockey League.
In 1983, Honey founded Etak Inc., manufacturer of digital navigation systems for automobiles and leading provider of digital street map data; Etak is now owned by Sony Corp. Previously, Honey worked as a Research Engineer at SRI International in the fields of over-the-Horizon-Radar and underwater instrumentation.
