I don't know how much longer I can resist responding to Blue.

Nothing threads isn't why the number of posts are down on SI. Everybody needs a relief valve after the trading day is over to keep their stress manageable. Perhaps Blue thinks we should eliminate all PMs, Emails, and suspend everyone who dares to waste band width going for a grub! Blue knows better. SI from day one has always had several different personalities for a reason! Those with similar personalities eventually find each other and becomes friends. If Blue thinks turning SI into some type of dictatorship will increase share holder value, God helps us!

As for nothing threads, I haven't seen one started on purpose in months. In fact, I was one of the ones who made SI management very aware that their was a problem with their programing that allows them to keep showing up. Most of the people who start these threads, don't even know they started one! And Blue wants them suspended! I think not!

As for why the number of posts are down on SI lets consider the following:

1. Software Problems creating brown outs, and black outs.
2. Too many new options introduced before the bugs were worked out.
3. Failure of SI to take actions against those who threaten others on SI.
4. The use of PMs instead of public messages.
5. The increase of lawsuits against posters on public boards.
6. And obnoxious people who think they should be able to control everyone else and when they can't always threatening to take their ball and go home!
7. Community Votes which pit one member against another! I have seen enough of this in the political area to know it destroys instead of builds up.

If a web site is going to charge for its use, then reliability has to be their number one concern!

I don't know what is wrong with Blue right now, but striking out at everybody in his path is not the way to go!
