Bux, the reason that is ask is that at one time, QCOM was not a certain gorilla. This is not to say that IDC will ever be a gorilla. there is potential for IDC as 3G deployment nears, just as there was for QCOM when China was investigating CDMA. IDC is a speculative play based on technology and its partnerships. You mentioned that IDC currently has a declining revenue stream. That appears accurate, though again, IDC's bet is in the 3G buildout which is nearly 2 years away. IDC is not a threat to QCOM, imo. This does not mean that IDC will not grab a share of the huge market, making present price levels a deal for a long term holder.

I presently do not hold IDC but will in the 28-32 area. I do not presently hold QCOM but will in the 80-100 area (less likely unless the market melts down as it usually does once a year).
