Mike,

I have looked at FILE, HUMC, DCTM, OTEX for quite awhile now -- and have a reasonably clear and distinct understanding of each of their markets and their respective share in them. In fact I owned shares in all of these companies within the last two/three years. However, Altris has the most to gain from here IMHO (in relation to current share price.)

Altris is not looking to become a dominate playing on the level of DCTM for example -- at least not for now.

Altris's intent is to better serve its vertical markets through integration and strategic distribution. Your continual emphasis on size is dismissive and misses the bigger point for most thread participants (a stock's performance.) It is not my intent to place emphasis on Altris's "place" in the grand scheme, but to place primary emphasis on where it was, where its recently been, and now where its headed. It has/is quickly gained back the respect of many -- and versus I might add -- some very hi-profile names like those you are quick to mention; FILE, DCTM, and HUMC. In fact, to date, CSC was almost exclusively servicing DCTM and is now broadening their portfolio to include Spescom/Altris where its appropriate/applicable. They've already included Altris in a very large General Dynamics install/serve and are working on several more. QSP, another biggie, has been moving biz over to EB (through their financials product line) from what has been traditionally a FILE integration house.

Altris has recently won the following: Continental Airlines, Bechtel, Virgin Trains, London Underground, General Dynamics, and many more with little in the way of resources. Pure elbow grease. They now have the cash, backing of a far larger entity in Spescom, no debt, and will be getting off the BB very soon.

I respectfully acknowledge your understanding of the DM markets. You have been around these threads for a long time now. I've never dismissed a word of what you've offered, and you are very fair/reasoned in your posts. There is no doubt that you are familiar/knowledgeable about many/almost all aspects of the industry, but you are too caught up in market share (i.e., size & stature) vs actual common stock performance.

These boards are first and foremost about equities and the focus on those stocks believed to have the highest potential returns going forward. Altris could easily make $6.00 maybe $8.00 by Christmas whereas how many of the others might double, triple in price?
