Consumer Service
RPMs, reach, frequency and question metrics experience record gains

Targeting and conversion services drive RPMs. Revenue per thousand page views (RPMs) for the Ask Jeeves Consumer Service increased to $13.35, representing a 33 percent increase over the third quarter. This growth reflects continued increases in the amount of high value inventory Ask Jeeves provides to its site partners. In addition, the updated shopping service on Ask.com contributed significantly to Consumer Service revenues.
Questions reach 196 million. The Consumer Service received a record 196 million questions during the quarter, up 46 percent from 134 million questions in the third quarter. Ask Jeeves continues to capture intelligence about consumer needs and interests from the questions asked to provide insight to its site partners and enhance the service.
Ask Jeeves rises to Top 30 site. According to Media Metrix, Ask Jeeves' Consumer Service increased its reach to 5.1 million unique users in November, representing 26 percent growth over September 1999. This represents a 455 percent increase since January 1999.
Page views grow to 6.1 million. Average daily page views for the quarter grew 22 percent to 6.1 million for the month of December, compared to 5.1 million average daily page views for the month of September.
