Zeuspaul, I agree that Molton Carbonate is more efficient and FCL has a pilot plant in California since 1996,but still there were many snags to resolve. On of the major snags with high temperature flc' are power fluctuation an corrosion.

Also solid oxide developed mainly in Japan has high promises but at around 1800 degrees F, is a strech for around 60% efficiency which is near the efficiency of modern gas tubines in a two stage combined cycle power plant.

To utilize the flc's heat is another problem with high temperature high efficiency flc's

(for sure the Americans as always exagerate some <GG> it is a GE company after all.)
