Some of you who are new to this board and/or have no particular interest in the QCOM board may be interested to know that we on the Q threads have over the years been visited by numerous doubters who posted to us very much in the same vein as Bux has been posting here. My first exposure to Jim Lurgio was through a series of posts which he offered apparently promoting IDC to the Q posters. Bill has done the same thing (and received some disrespectful responses) on the Q board. And though I don't remember for sure, I think Darrel may have done the same.

Their posts were a challenge to our certainty that we were indeed seeing things accurately. I did sometimes wish they would just go away. We had many even more articulate and argumentative people trying to prove that the Q was not going to become as big a deal as we all hoped. Tero posted for a long time, for example, from his base as a Nokia stalwart.

I guess my point is that questioning your assumptions has some value to all of us. I for one am very interested in whether or not you have the real knowledge to defend against the assertions of Bux because I need to know if those patents are really worth anything. When the subject gets changed, I strongly suspect lack of knowledge by that particular poster (though it does not mean IDC might not have something worth money). Incidentally, this business of IDC is broadband and QCOM is narrowband is a red herring as far as I can tell.

Sincerely, Lance
