O.K. I am a lazy slattern and I don't want to do the search right now.

BCE means before the common era--aka before Christ. It's a way of acknowledging that other cultures have other calendars while keeping to the one that has taken over. I, who loathe PC, appreciate the delicate sensitivity to other cultures that this usage conveys.

The weird date 1060 comes from the archeological find; it stuck in my mind because it was so close to to the date of in a mirror image of the Norman conquest. I cannot defend it. I can only look for the the archeological find; I have no personal investment in the issue.
