the implied volatility on an option moves up and down depending on supply and demand, in my opinion. so if a market maker prices an option to achieve an implied volatility of 30 but there are many buyers and no sellers, it is likely he would raise the implied volatility to say, 31 or 32. at least that makes sense to me. what the implied volatility should be is subjective, not objective.
