Richard:

There is no question that copper is on the way back. I have had shares of
First Quantum (symbol FM Toronto), for a couple of years. It has a gold mine
and an important Zambian copper mine, and has actually reported net earnings
on its low cost operations. However, they were recently awarded a privatized
major copper mine (also in Zambia), and the stock has run from C$1 to C$3.

Another stock that has significant copper as well as gold is Taseko, a
Hunter Dickinson company, that just acquired an established copper mine, with
a substantial life ahead of it. They are about to put the mine back into
production, as it was a relatively high cost base. This stock has not moved
as yet.

Anyway, there are a number of good companies within the base metals arena,
and continued upward moves in copper, and the other base metals will make
these stocks move up substantially.

Regards

Dan
