inkt - the cache software and search wholesaler seems to have gained some ground after akamai (akam) went public and awakened the public's awareness again cache software is used by isps and web networks to store popular files locally so they can be delivered faster, instead of having one file on one server (say yahoo for example) inktomi's search service is used by yahoo, hotwired and others and is one of the best search engines available...users on yahoo or hotbot, for example, who do search are actually using inktomi's search engine
