biowa, <In a broader sense this also goes to a point that I think I've brought before - that with an accelerating pace of new drug development are we going to shorten the competitive lifecycle of many new drugs to the point that they will never recoup the cost of development plus a reasonable rate of return?> As intelligent bioinvestor's we must plan for drugs with much higher efficacy. Much of what is in development today is not the the result of available genomic information. This information will transform drug development. I truly cannot imagine all the changes we will see in drug treatment over the next two decades. I don't know of a more exciting place to invest during this time frame. However, we must not allow ourselves to get trapped in current development/treatment models too long. J.D.
