SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Mainsoft Corporation, the leader in cross-platform solutions for the enterprise, today announced that Parametric Technology Corporation (Nasdaq: PMTC - news), the leading providers of collaborative product commerce (CPC) and flexible engineering solutions, has selected Mainsoft's Windows® platform for UNIX, MainWin®, as the re-hosting infrastructure to port Windows NT applications to UNIX platforms. This strategic relationship with PTC is important for Mainsoft as it continues to build its stronghold in the flexible engineering and MDA (mechanical design automation) marketplace.

''We are pleased to have this relationship with one of the world's largest software companies and the leading flexible engineering software provider,'' said Yaacov Cohen, president of Mainsoft. ''This relationship validates the fact that Mainsoft can deliver mission-critical applications to this vertical market. These products are among the first CPC solutions ported to the UNIX platform from a Windows NT source code base using Mainsoft's Windows platform for UNIX, MainWin.

''We selected Mainsoft as our partner because of their proven technology in re-hosting Windows applications to UNIX platforms,'' said Mark Watkins, Vice President of Enterprise Product Modeling, PTC. ''We are excited to work with a company that will provide us with a solid technology infrastructure. Mainsoft's Windows platform for UNIX will help us dramatically increase our competitive advantage in the CPC and visualization marketplace.''
