Tom, thank you for your support. You own posts regarding the value of a very conservative approach to writing NPs versus spreads, and OX's limits to 30 day exposure, is paying dividends for me. Unfortunately, I chartered a sailboat in the British Virgin Islands for a week long trip next week, and I have to stay out of Feb puts until I return. Don't want to be exposed while Mr. G is playing with interest rates, or worrying about getting on the VHF radio to trade.

Following up on the subject of downside exposure, let us not forget the rather serious and sudden correction we just experienced early this month. My positions - again thanks to your hitting the subject of conservative OTM strikes - faired quite well. That again gives me confidence in your approach to keeping things simple and safe. I think that people need to realize that it is NOT a speculative growth strategy and should not be treated as such. It is an excellent income strategy. So comparing the buying of calls and puts to writing NPs is a futile exercise. Each strategy appeals to a vastly difference audience.

My opinion.

-David
