I don't think the LATimes story went deeply enough. Anyone who can't see the e-book opportunity here just isn't looking, IMO.

There will always be print. TV didn't destroy radio. E-books won't destroy print.

Think how many of us "surf" to find news in business periodicals. It's a hassel, all that clicking around, waiting for downloads. An e-book load of our 5 or 10 top magazine sources, available instantly, would likely be easier to handle. Wireless to our printer for articles we wanted to keep or send as e-mail attachments...and no more postage for the publishers, no more paper costs (about 40% of revenues)....the hang-up there would be ad revenue...what would happen to that...I'm not sure. (Many advertisers actually like to run space...it's a way to tell readers of new products, build "brand" recognition, etc.)

Just suppose the e-book also had a sound capability...MTV at the beach while you read that latest Danielle Steele title? Nah, no yuppie teenage girl would be caught dead with something like that! Children's books...a talking Dr. Seuss?

I just LOVE this one!
