Neoforma.com up 230 percent in IPO debut
NEW YORK, Jan 24 (Reuters) - Shares of Neoforma.com Inc (NasdaqNM:NEOF - news) jumped 230 percent on Monday as the medical product and supply e-commerce company made its Wall Street debut.

Neoforma.com's stock was trading at $43, up $30 from its initial public offering price of $13 per share.

Lead underwriter Merrill Lynch upped the value of the deal, pricing 7 million shares above its raised price range of $10 to $12 per share.

The Santa Clara, Calif.-based company provides business to business e-commerce services to the medical product and supply industry.

The company said it has strategic alliances with Dell Computer Corp (NasdaqNM:DELL - news), General Electric Medical Systems, a unit of General Electric Co (NYSE:GE - news), Healtheon/WebMD Corp (NasdaqNM:HLTH - news), VerticalNet Inc (NasdaqNM:VERT - news).

For the nine months ended Sept. 30, Neoforma.com reported revenues of $464,000 and a net loss of about $25.6 million.

After the offering, Neoforma.com said it will have about 58 million shares outstanding. The company plans to use the proceeds from the IPO for general corporate purposes, including sales and marketing, product development and working capital.>>>
