He also estimated earnings of 25 cents for IDC for 1999 and earnings so far for three quarters are 51 cents. He only missed it by a 100% so far so what does he know? He was looking for recurring revenues to build a model on and evidently he didn't see them coming in but other institutions did. Jim, first you claimed you weren't aware of the report projecting declining revenues, now you claim the projection for 1999 was actually .25 but the report actually says that the sole analyst projected .51 for 1999. Perhaps an earlier projection from the analyst was for .25 but it is common for analysts to update estimates as new information becomes available. What I find significant is that his last and most recent projection was for declining revenues for FY 2000. I know analysts have a long history of not hitting the numbers but the projected trend is troubling. If that analyst was so clueless, I would like to hear your speculation on why more intelligent analysts aren't scrambling to cover this dynamically growing company? Where is the coverage on this company with a $1.8 Billion company? Many smaller companies have plenty of analyst coverage. And if IDC cares at all about shareholder value, why didn't management take the sole analyst aside and explain things to him in a way he could understand? Do you think it was Mom and Pop investing for the future that turned over the whole float above 50? Uh..Just my opinion but have you ever heard of momentum investing and day trading? Other sincere opinions welcome, Bux PS Do you like the way that I actually address each point you raise and give my sincere opinion?
