Wasn't the niceguy kind of ridiculed(in Dec'99) when he mentioned that in Y2K, AMD would have more than $1B in Flash revenues alone? If I remember correctly, he also mentioned about the stock price is worth $40 (or $60?) on the Flash business alone. I agree with you a spin off would be great for the shareholders. But for now, AMD needs it more than ever to fend off and CPU pricing pressure from Intel.
