Greg and Snowbird, I use Ameritrade and they do NOT allow one to designate which shares are sold. They told me that it was up to the "client" to keep up with it. Being new to all that I decided to keep a notebook of purchases/sells/dates so that my accountant will know what I have done. Last year was a nightmare because I had not kept up with it but I surely do now. If there is a better way would appreciate any input. TIA, best regards, Dep
