Dan, Jesus is, certainly, not preaching to you alone. I am just as much, if not more, guilty of using the tongue as a weapon as anybody, but, at least try to keep it a defensive weapon. Of course, sometimes the best defense, is a good offense. This seems to be true in war, and football.
We must do our best to "walk the walk", but perfection is out of the reach of mortal man, and I can not believe that it was intended that we allow ourselves, or our friends in Christ, to be treated as doormats. Perhaps I am wrong but, until the Holy spirit slaps me up side the head, I must continue in defense but guard against being guilty of an unwarranted offense.
