AT&T Enriches its Networking Management Services Offers
At ComNet 2000, new capabilities for managing servers, LANs and WANs announced
WASHINGTON, Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T today announced a series of enrichments to its networking management services for local area networks
(LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) that extend to small and medium-sized businesses many benefits that have been limited to the customized networks of
large, multinational companies.
The new offers, announced in conjunction with the ComNet 2000 tradeshow here this week, are in two categories - networked computing and enterprise
networking.
AT&T Networked Server Monitoring provides highly reliable, round-the-clock remote monitoring of enterprise servers, including proactive notification of potential
problems and outages. This global offer is a cost-effective solution for monitoring the operational status of a company's mission-critical servers and the applications
they support.
The offer provides proactive monitoring of baseline metrics and thresholds, as well as event notification that can be directed to client contacts to fit almost any
customer need. Bundled with other AT&T services, this offer provides an effective means to improve information availability across global enterprise networks.
AT&T Managed LAN Utility allows businesses to buy comprehensive LAN services by the port with ``pay-as-you-go' pricing based on the number of LAN ports
they actually use. The per-port pricing structure includes LAN hardware, maintenance, asset buy-back, proactive fault management, design and implementation.
In addition, AT&T refreshes technology and provides network enhancements on a proactive, ongoing basis, determined by a client's chosen level of service
performance or its growth. All of the LAN services at a single monthly price per port provide ``utility-like' functionality and reliability. Clients benefit from
predictable cost and service levels and can move their fixed, capital intensive cost to a variable expense stream.
