Saudi Prince Alwaleed Buys 1% to 2% Stake in Compaq, CNN Says

Houston, Jan. 24, (Bloomberg) -- Billionaire Saudi Prince
Alwaleed Bin Talal has purchased a 1 percent to 2 percent stake in
Compaq Computer Corp. for $500 million to $1 billion, Cable News
Network reported in its ``In the Money' program. Alwaleed has
been buying stock in low 20s for the past year or so, CNN said.
Compaq, the world's biggest personal computer maker, was
unavailable for comment.
