Yougang, RE <In light of the uglier price action today that bubbles the option theory driving price down last week, can someone come up with something that is more convincing for the share price diving?>

I don't have a theory. But I can share my experience with another turn-around stock: CS. If you are watching the network industry in the last couple of years, CS has been a dog. Nobody give them a chance because CS competes against CSCO and NT.

I bought CS at about $8 on year ago. The valuation was in the toilet like AMD at $18. CS hang around $8 for a LONG time. When CS had first turn-around Q early last year, the stock was trading b/w 8-15 like AMD several month ago. When CS presented several profitable Qs after that, the stock finally got some recognition. It's trading at $28 (one of few stocks up today). It's still under valued in the network industry in my opinion.

My point is AMD just turned around. There is tremendous work to be done to convince the big guys on the street. If AMD delivers in this year, it will surpass the performance or CS by miles in terms of turnaround and valuation. It just doesn't happen overnight.

We can speculate on bonds effect or shorts outstanding or whatever. But in the end of the day, it's buy-side big guys who will determine if AMD has turned around or not. Only then, AMD the stock will match its true color.

Just my 2 cents.
