One Billion Dollars is only seed money compared to what it will take to fiberize every parcel of real estate in this country You bet. A Billion dollars is but a tiny drop in the bucket. This would be the first baby step of a 3000 mile journey. And they already know how much /month they would charge? LOL! I suspect if you look hard I'd guess you would find that this project will cost many 100's of billions and take 10-20 years to implement fully. You regularly remind us all of the inferiority of HFC to pure from a technical viewpoint. Of that there is no doubt, however the real issues are economic ones. Somebody has to pay interest on the billions spent. Somebody has to pay to maintain the infrastructure. Somebody has to pay to install users, etc. Everyone is heading towards pure. The only debate is which economic model will pan out to be the best- one where you create an income flow from an "inferior" product while progressing to pure gradually or one where you delay getting customers while you jump right to the end. My gut feel is that he who grabs the customers first will keep them. Eric
