I think that if Intel was seriously interested in expanding into new territories. They should have bought USRobotics. Allowing USRX to operate as a separate entity, where everything stays the same, 'cept revenues/earnings are pooled. Intel then just send over loads of cash for USR to develop new products, and let USR handle all the Networking expansions etc... Cisco/Coms/Asend/Cascasde et all would then be sh*t'n bricks. Too bad thats not the case.
