1. ALEXIS HOTEL (107-1st Ave) Over $170

Older (1909), charmingly elegant, and fancy. Not sure about rooms with views.

2. EDGEWATER HOTEL (2411 Alaskan Way/Pier67) $110-170
Phone: (800) 624-0670 or local (206) 728-7000
Seattle's only "waterfront" hotel. Not as fancy as some, but my personal favorite. A much longer walk to the meeting, but near Pier 70 (where GNET's new headquarters will be). Famous for the Beatles staying there in the 60's, and fishing out their hotel window. Get a room as far out to the west as possible (with a deck, to feed the pigeons), facing south to be able to see the city and ferries (beautiful view at night).

3. FOUR SEASONS OLYMPIC HOTEL (411 University) Over $170
Phone: (800) 223-8772 / (800) 332-3442 or local (206) 621-1700
Older, elegant, and very fancy. Rooms with views.

4. HILTON SEATTLE (6th & University) $110-170
Phone: (800) 445-8667 or local (206) 624-0500
Nice, and less costly. Not sure about rooms with views.

5. INN AT THE MARKET (86 Pine St.) $110-170
Phone: (206) 443-3600
Sophisticated but unpretentious. Close to Pike Place Market.

Phone: (206) 621-1770
Nice, and fancy, Rooms with city views only.

8. SORRENTO HOTEL (900 Madison St) $110-170
Phone: (206) 622-6400 Older (1909), elegant, and fancy,

And for those on a REALLY tight budget (where you'll meet some of Seattle's most colorful characters, "up close and personal")<ggg>

11. SEATTLE INTERNATIONAL YOUTH HOSTEL (84 Union St.)
Phone: (206) 622-5443
"Dorm style" beds (no "doubling-up" allowed) for about $20/night.

12. SEATTLE YMCA (909-4th Ave) (a nice "address" GRUB)
Phone: (206) 382-5000
About $20 for bunks (I've always take a top bunk), $40 for beds.

I don't yet know where the March 17th GNET Shareholder's Meeting will be held this year. I just left a voice-mail message for Mark Peterson, so I hope to have the answer soon. The last one was held at the Washington Athletic Club (1235-6th Ave). Go2Net, Inc. is located at 999-3rd Ave, Suite 4700 (Phone: 206-447-1595).
