Quincy: "Are you sure?" how do you know the 6100 doesn't work? because BellAt said it didn't, or because you've tested them in real life?

all any Bell, not just BellAt, has to do to reject a phone is to raise, for example, the performance feat requirement for one or two items.

this doesn't mean the 6100s don't or won't operate in the real US world, as they are operative; it means BellAtlantic has the ability to set any performance standard for any phone manufacturer they want. go to Japan. it does put the Yankee Group and Dataquest on the defensive to develop quality issue explanations as to why the phones are rejected. as for not "expecting much improvement" - this didn't come from Nokia. it came from their interpretation of BellAtlantic's data. Nokia has stated they are working on the issue with Bell to resolve differences and come to an equitable solution.
