If your long LEAPS get called away, you lose a lot of money in time value. Thus, you need to monitor your position closely. If you do not have the time to scrutinize the market so closely, I would not recommend the strategy. You must take defensive action when called for, such as rolling or buying back short calls, when you might be in danger of having your LEAPS called.
