Elmer, RE:"AMD has Athlons left over collecting dust so they have resorted to a fire sale to dump the unwanted product."... AMD usually has about 600k-1M processors on hand at the end of any given quarter. One quarter they had a couple Million to sell down. The fact they only had 300K this quarter and motherboards were in short supply certainly doesn't suggest they have to have a "fire sale". OTOH, they seem to be able to produce high MHZ chips in quantity. Intel may not be able to do with the "not yet up to speed" floppermine. Jim
