<If the receiver had possession prior to the ball hitting the ground then the ground did not assist in the catch. This is what everyone saw.>

Everyone saw the ball hit the ground. What everyone doesn't realize, because they saw the replay a hundred times in SLOW MOTION, is that in the continuous act of attempting to catch the ball it hit the ground. You may think he had possession before the ball touched the ground, but the highly trained officials understood immediately after seeing the replay that the ball touched the ground in the process of catching the ball. If there would have been any doubt what so ever, the officials would have let the ruling on the field stand.

I saw a very similar call several years ago. A player went to make a shoe string catch. He extended his arms and grabbed the ball inches of the ground. At that point if you froze the video or slowed it down enough, you would say he has possession. The ball was in his hands, off the ground, and apparently in control. Then in the continuous follow through motion of catching the ball, the ball scraped the grass while in his hands. The apparent catch was ruled no-good because the ball touched the ground...even though it looked like he had snagged the ball before it hit the ground. I remember a lot of fans being confused by that call also.

BTW, have you figured out why AMD has shed almost 25% since hitting it's post earnings peak <gg>??
