Over the week-end I got a chance of reading some of the posts on various threads! I was surprised at the degree double values one finds, reading some of these posts over years! They advocate to people to keep their stocks while themselves don't own any or sell trade on daily! WHy this thread lost people, I asked you once. Well I had several
e-mails from some thread friends that don't post here anymore. They said they lost money becasue of buy and hold
advice they received.
On this thread we had this gentleman that advocated to the others to buy, put away. Don't worry, got to sleep, and you will make money, he said. Well they lost selling opportunity, and he is trading!
Day trading is not theft and is not wrong, if one can do it. The truth of the matter is that apart from buying quality stocks and keeping them on a long term, one
has to take profit, when he can. Keeping shares until one's
funerals is a very silly concept. gg French people in the
South of France have a saying, "the farmers born rich, live
poor, and die rich becasue they don't sell their lands!" This may apply to the property in the South of France, but not to this stock market of today! As some people advocate on these thread!
I have my long portfolgio,and do believe to keep certain stocks for long, but I sell and buy on daily basis, and I try to make a buck, here and there! Make a dollar everyday,
for 250 working days (plus or minus!) and you will get 250
dollars in your pocket. One cam beat the S&P and every fund manager in town. Now imagine keeping money in CPQ, Dell,
for the entire 1999! Moral of the story, practice what we preach and not give false advice to others
