Hello Bryan, it got deleted from my message list again. in fact, it didn't even appear in my folder while it was still in my "in box"

So I'm gonna preserve it here. As it was a mass mailing, I don't feel I'm breaching any privacy on either you or my part, hope you feel the same way.

Dear Silicon Investor Members:

We wanted to give you a quick update on a number of key projects and new offerings that are happening around here. I promise that I'll keep it brief.

Classic SI Customization Option
Based on your feedback, we will be publishing several changes over the next few days to the Classic SI Customization Option. These changes include over a dozen user interface enhancements, such as:
+ Changing the "visited links" color.
+ Increased font size for message page navigation
+ Ability to search "Posts by this Person" and "This Subject Only" included on *all* appropriate pages.

Plus, we will publish a final round of changes in the next couple weeks, including the ability to create public portfolios and adding a link to Carlson On-Line Profiles for Canadian threads.

Clubhouses
Earlier, I had indicated that we would replace the Clubhouse feature with a similar or better feature on the new SI. Bad news: The Clubhouse replacement feature is not yet complete. Good news: Since the Clubhouses actually run off a database that is separate from the core SI message database, we can (and will) leave the old Clubhouse's up and running, even after we shut down the old SI site. In the next few days, we will post specific instructions onto the Classic SI Customization Option thread for accessing the Clubhouses - Subject 32332.

If you're a Clubhouse fan, please make sure that you check there for specific information. If you don't have any idea what I'm talking about because you've never heard of Clubhouses, don't worry - you're not alone. Only a handful of users currently utilize the Clubhouse feature, but please feel free to check it out if you're interested.

Old SI Shutdown
Speaking of shutting down the old SI...Yes, I know that it's a sore subject for some of you, so I'll get right to the point. We are finalizing a few remaining details, and we expect to completely shut down the old SI site during the week of Feb. 7. When we shut the old site down, any message board pages that you have bookmarked in your browser should pass through directly to the new site. And, we will try to ensure that as many other bookmarks as possible have a pass-through destination as well.

SI Performance
The SI engineering team continues to work diligently on improving the speed and performance of SI in the face of the rapid growth we are currently experiencing. We understand that some of you are still experiencing glitches and occasional slowness, and we apologize for the inconvenience. When we shut down the old site, we'll be able to focus on re-configuring the message databases as quickly as possible, and we are confident that will have a significant positive impact on overall performance.

Thanks again for your continued support,

Bryan Burdick
Managing Director, Silicon Investor

PS: I also want to mention that we have added a new "Virtual Auditorium" feature to SI. Our first broadcast will feature Internet analyst, Steve Harmon, in a live video interview entitled Technology Stocks for 2000. The Virtual Auditorium experience integrates live streaming audio and video, live chat with audience participation, real-time online surveys and much more. Now is your chance to ask Steve Harmon the question you've been dying to ask. It's way cool. In fact, it's unlike anything you've ever seen on the Web before, ad we hope you'll check it out.

The Steve Harmon live broadcast is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 27, at 4:30 p.m. EST. You must register in advance to attend the live event, and space is limited. For more information, or to register, go to:
