Informix Announces Expiration of Hart-Scott-Rodino Waiting Period in Ardent Software Acquisition MENLO PARK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 24, 2000--Informix(R) Corporation (Nasdaq:IFMX), the technology leader in the software infrastructure for the i.Economy, today announced that the waiting period under Hart-Scott-Rodino for the acquisition of Ardent Software has expired. The acquisition was announced on December 1, 1999 and calls for the exchange of 3.5 shares of Informix common stock for each outstanding share of Ardent Software. The transaction is subject to the approval of both Informix and Ardent shareholders, and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2000.
