Of course! That's why I think the best way to measure top-line growth is the sum of revenues plus the increase in deferred revenues. That should effectively eliminate the shifting sands of revenue recognition. The negative part of this approach is that deferred revenues refer only to cash received from a customer in anticipation of a sale. They do not create A/Rs.
