Daniel, enjoy your informative posts. I read that the webpads have a 'virtual keyboard' that (optionally) overlays the full width of the display and I think about 1/3 of the vertical. So you can type if you have tiny fingers or use the plastic pen that you could also use to 'graffitti' with. I think the point of x86/Linux is just that Transmeta's current hw/sw combo chips are geared to x86, and Linux, which has other nice attributes (as in Mr Torvalds can make it fit into a flash disk, since the webpads won't have a hard drive), happens to run on x86 machines.
