I think that is a tough call. I guess I am from the, "Old School". I just think Basketball (College especially), is a team game. So much was said about Michael Jordan, in hindsight. Who knew he would become the player he did. Truth is, until his junior year at Carolina, he had flashes of brilliance, but was rather erratic, at times, too. I guess the same could be said for Vince Carter, now. The NBA is the perfect forum for players with those kinds of skills. It is all about matchups, clearouts, and mismatches. And when Michael Jordan developed the jump shot, he was virtually unstopable.
I do think you have to have that guy on your team, who can pick you up when the team isnt playing the way they should. Sometimes, you need that one on one play. I just dont want to see the College game become the pro game, because I dont think the NBA can duplicate the excitement the College game gives you. |
