I just finished reading a fair amount of material about bovine mastitis and a vaccine that could eliminate the sub-clinical Staphylococcus Aureus induced one would be a *big* hit. While S. Aureus only accounts for something like 40% of the cases of bovine mastitis, it's the most difficult one to control and it has the worst effects on the udder.

Have you looked at Aquila's bovine mastitis project? They're currently conducting the safety trial, which doesn't sound far advanced until you realize that in animals they apparently do the safety trial after the efficacy trials. <g>
