I have not studied LVLT - your opinions would be appreciated. No I think GBLX is a royalty game although one with fairly significant barriers to entry for the underwater crossing portion of their business. The rest of the business they are creating - wonderful though it is - seems like it could be more price sensitive. I love the partnerships they are building and their ability to execute their game plan. Last mile... boy if I knew I would be REALLY rich! Lol! My initial gut feel right now that broadband wireless for some markets (handheld devices and all the permeations these will be in a few years), fiber to the door in others (to large business/campuses). Who ends up coming to your doorstep at home I don't know yet. I think some will depend on what the cable folks do and some will depend on if our society gets as addicted to cell phones like the folks in Finland/Asia etc... Right now if my BRCM stock is any indication.. cable is leading but I think it is an intermediate solution (I hold my BRCM lightly). DSL seems like the other intermediate solution. I think that these two stand less of a chance of surviving the fiber and broadband wireless tornados. What is your opinion? Can cable or DSL ever attain the speeds of fiber? Will fiber be laid right up to everyone's doorstep? What kinds of speed are we going to see from wireless? At what restrictions (e.g. line of sight issues etc..)? Love to hear your opinion. What companies do you like best in the fiber tornado and why? What about in wireless?
