At today's price ($13/sh), I have to wait 6.5 years for the company to earn my investment back (only assuming $2 a share profit over that time horizon.

If you buy EMC, you'll have to wait 11.5 years for the company to earn your money back. Assuming 40% growth per year.

And for most internet companies ... oh well.

Bottom line, I'm dollar cost averaging in and every time it drops $1 from here, I'm adding 1000 shares.
