A spokesman for the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company declined to comment on who AMD will name, but he did acknowledge that the executive comes from outside the company. The company will host a conference call with press and analysts at 2:15 Pacific Standard Time (1715 EST). AMD has been looking for a new president and chief operating officer since Atiq Raza abruptly resigned last July. -Scot
