Linley Gwennap and Michael Slater work for Microprocessor Design Reports (MDR). The purpose of the organization is to provide users of designs with reviews. If, every time they did a test, all they had to say is, "buy Intel", there wouldn't be much reason to pay $2,000-$4000 a year for the advice. It would seem the natural bias would be to find fault with the leader. Other than that they seem pretty informed and knowledgeable, at least to finance/business oriented guys who aren't technical, such as myself.
