QCOM 3G;

QCOM won the 3G battle over a year ago, IMHO, when ETSI decided to go with a CDMA air interphase technology (beating out what I believe was called a TD-CDMA air interphase which if I remember correctly, was a win for the forces of NOK/ERICY and a loss for Siemans/Alcatel).

Since QCOM has an IPR lock on CDMA, it was just a matter of time before ERICY, and the ITU fell into line.

In fact that's what makes QCOM huge! 2G is divided up among different techs, but once the changeover to 3G takes place, GSM will be using a CDMA air interphase and paying royalties to guess who as a result!
