AJ - You can't live in Winnipeg or you would know that the Manitoba government guaranteed the losses of the Jets for the last two or three years that they were there, which is I believe the most generous government support that any team in Canada has ever received. Winnipeg's problem was the fact that Barry Shenkarow is a #@*$#@*. Also, while you're correct about the mall and the oilpatch we're talking a maximum of 5-10 million a year for the Flames and Oilers combined as opposed to billions per year for wealthy owners of oil and gas companies in Calgary. Alberta's current surplus is billions so where is the problem? Just watch the province pass the buck if these two teams depart.
