BetzDearborn to Partner With USFilter to Offer Customers Single Source for Equipment and Chemicals

Companies Will Share Sales and Outsourcing Opportunities for Industrial and Municipal Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems
The BetzDearborn and the Pulp and Paper Divisions of Hercules Incorporated (NYSE: HPC - news) and USFilter, a Vivendi Water Company, have entered into an alliance to sell jointly USFilter's capital and chemical feed equipment and Hercules' water and process treatment chemicals
Announcement of the agreement was made by William A. Micsky, vice president and general manager of BetzDearborn, and Andrew D. Seidel, USFilter's president and chief operating officer.
According to the two executives, by coordinating their complementary industry know-how, technical expertise, operating experience and product resources to enhance sales opportunities, BetzDearborn and USFilter will be able to offer customers single-source access to everything they need for the optimum management of water and wastewater treatment systems.

The agreement will expand the outsourcing sales of both companies.'
The agreement covers existing business as well as new construction projects involving industrial and municipal water and wastewater treatment systems, including outsourcing the equipment, engineering, operations, maintenance and chemical management of industrial water treatment systems a customer sites. At present, the alliance will focus primarily on North America.
