Hi Guys/Gals!! How's it goin?? I've been busy, story of my life. But better to be busy than bored <GGGG> But I just had to come out to post about this issue you and Yaacov are discussing. Sonny I did promise you I'd show up one of these days. <ggg> I personally haven't even been PM'ing, no time. IMO the problem is that we are all driven by instant gratification and greed. Now we can trade on-line with out the benefit of a broker talking us out of a trade, be it buy or sell. It's cheap too, $7 a trade. Personally I didn't listen to my broker who told me to wait on my purchase of WCOM at 45. Now I am sitting at a loss but I'm not calling and balling him out for sending my order in. PLEASE!! I try to teach my kids to take responsibility for their own action and not blame others for what THEY choose to do. No one holds a gun to someones head and forces them to buy or sell. We should ALL know our own comfort level and when it pertains to strengths and weaknesses about financial issues. Please don't let this thread die!! I have learned so many things from you all. I'm sorry If I'm being sappy but it's true. From Anant telling Sonki and I about the IRS's Rules on Roth IRA's to Billwot helping me with rental property issues. I listen to what you say but I don't do everything someone tells me to do. Use your heads people and don't blame your bad decisions on someone else. Everyone has their own styles, some are buy and hold others like to trade. They both have their benefits. I do a little of both but my like everyone no one can time the market. Ok, Now I'll get off the soap box. Here's what I've been doing. I sold most of my stocks in early January. I'm sitting on some cash and it is burning a big hole in my pocket. Of course I sold to soon but I wanted to lock in my profits. I just picked up WCOM and a teeny tiny bit of LU ;-), just to have some in the portfolio. I even bought some MICA (yeah I can hear the groans). I like the stocks that are beaten up and bloody. I intend to hold those for at least 2 years. I also went out and looked at a HUD home at lunch. Yes I am still looking at investment property. I am learning lots of good stuff. Maybe my second career will be in real estate since I don't see myself doing this for another 30 years. Well That's enough for today. I'll try to post a bit more. If I have to come and post jokes again just to keep this thread alive I WILL!! <GGG> You all have a great night and for the lurkers who have quit posting don't.
