Don't tell Grumpy. Either we end up with lower interest rates because Uncle Sam won't be borrowing so much, or we could get a tax cut so that all the idiot Stuarts out there can go buy more stock and give startup tech companies the money they need to keep increasing our productivity through new innovations.

No debt, money for investment and entrepreneurship, less and less dependence on industrial and commodity-based boom and bust cycles, increased globalization, and a boatload of economists that will actually have to do some original thinking for the first time in a couple of centuries.

Nope, Grumpy won't like that at all. Doesn't fit the Tulip model if prosperity and macroeconomic stability continue.

Maybe this Stevenson guy is really named Stuart. Yeah, that's it!
